Bill Maher Can't Handle Real Time
It's non-news, but it gives me the opportunity to write down what I have long thought, that Bill Maher is a self-serving asshole. He's a libertarian, what else should one expect? No one should confuse Bill Maher with a liberal, which I suspect is what wingnuts consider him. I loved his show Politically Incorrect, where all he did was throw the chum to his guests and let the arguing fly. His Real Time show, however, is totally contrived to showcase how astute, perceptive and funny Maher is, and what swell friends he has in the pundit class. He's not, he isn't, he used to be, and I don't care.
A few days ago on that show, Bill's ego got bruised by a 9/11 truther yelling a question from the crowd. Now, remember, his show is "Real Time", which implies that it is live, happening now, and dealing with the moment. Bill deals with spontaneity, evidently, with a violent hissy fit. Watch:
I'm no truther. But this really shows who Bill Maher is, just another haughty elitist who takes affront from the little people interrupting his lovefest with the politicos. Why not hash it out with the guy, Mr. "Real Time"? It'd probably make better TV, and certainly a better show.
