I Don't Approve
...but that's politics for you. Barack Obama has severed ties with Rev. Jeremiah Wright. Though I am not a member of any church, I believe Rev. Wright, the black church, and discourse in America has suffered a great setback as this fantastic and truthful Christian has been repudiated because America doesn't get it. The media, including Keith Olbermann, should go fuck itself for ginning this controversy up. Although it seems that Rev. Wright has been set up by the Clintonistas, and therefore deserve their share of razzberries, it's the gossip of the media that made Barack Obama cave to scandal and guilt by association.
As Michael Eric Dyson has said, Reverend Wright represents the thinking of Martin Luther King after 1965, a period where King began to set his sights on other injustice in America besides civil rights for blacks. Let's hope that Reverend Wright is elevated further in the discourse, and that he learns to use a media that has so shamefully used him.
