What is this piece of journalistic flotsam doing in the news? When was someone going to issue an Orange Alert to Smokey and the rest of us? Apparently, only the Department Of Homeland Security can prevent forest fires-or can they?
The newspaper said many forest law enforcement officers it contacted had no idea the warning had been issued.
Good to know that this $35 billion department is so on top of things. Oh, wait, they're just letting the FBI pick up the slack. No matter, it's pretty obvious that some news outlets thought this would be a good story to sell to the fear-based community. Yawn.
