Sometimes, wingnut irony has a force greater than gravity, crushing any and all logic and reason within its path.
From a post titled "Raising The Level Of Political Discourse", we get this from "KT Cat":
Blacks in America have become the perfect laboratory for the consequences of annihilating traditional sexual mores. At 70% illegitimacy, they have destroyed civilization at the molecular level. Still think it doesn't matter? Live it up, guys. Enjoy.
Once the level of discourse has been raised, namely by way of several people pointing out the harrowingly obvious fact that this is racist in the extreme, KT Cat defends himself in the best tradition of Jeff Goldstein:
I'm sure that quote about Black Americans will be misconstrued as racist. It isn't. It's simple statistical fact. Behavior correlates with results. Race has nothing to do with it.
The Pasty Doctrine of intentionalism: If I didn't mean to be racist, then I am not, regardless of what I said.
We can argue all day about whether this constitutes "racism"(not really). It certainly implies a correlation between race and bad behavior, thus fulfilling the definition of racist in terms of pointing out the inferiority of a particular race. Why choose blacks, KT? Got a personal beef with those "welfare queens"? Think this was going to get you some Rush Limbaugh-like adulation for saying jerked-off stuff in the hopes it will be seen as truth telling? Whose civilization have they destroyed, KT? Your "white civilization", by contrast? The kleagles of the Klan couldn't have said it better. Blaming/scapegoating a whole race is easily rank bigotry bordering on racism, jerkoff-itry at the very least.
Dude, choose your sentence structure and your content more carefully before you write, and then maybe you won't have to defend racist statements, how 'bout that?
UPDATE: A lesson from Paul Krugman to people like KT who think they can be excused from racist statements and positions by simply pleading ignorance or innocence of racism. Featuring KT's God Among Men, Ronald Reagan!
UPDATE Part Deux: KT is not an unreasonable man. Drat! Just kidding, KT. If I had a dime for every careless thing I said...
UPDATE Part Three: Obviously I have spoken too soon on the reasonability.
UPDATE Quaternary: Linkies from Jon Swift! Apparently KT is doing some creative editing of his post, he says. Shit, I would. To be fair, he's admitting an overreach.
